The Process of Substance Abuse Detox

”One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through. Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.”
-Paulo Coelho

Getting into a drug & alcohol detox is the first step in recovery. Detoxification is the process of ridding the body of the toxins built up from prolonged substance use.

People who use drugs and alcohol for long periods of time build up a physical dependency and tolerance. When you stop using said substances, the mind and body go into a frenzy and withdrawal starts to set in.

Detox can be very challenging. Our medical detox facility can be the difference between a successful detoxification, or giving up. Don't hesitate to call us!

What to Expect From Our Detoxification Program

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication Assisted Treatment is a process where support medication is used to help ease the detox process short term. MAT also can be used long term for those who need it in order to terminate future use of alcohol and opioids. This is possible due to the buprenorphine and naloxone drugs that both take effect by replacing the open receptors in the brain that accept opioids and alcohol and removing either of the substances that have attached themselves to an individual's brain so they cannot achieve the desired high or inebriation.
Our doctors conduct a medical evaluation and prescribe medication to greatly reduce or eliminate withdrawal symptoms during your detox, allowing you to focus fully on recovery and achieving sobriety. An example of an MAT would be Suboxone or Buprenorphine treatment for opiode use.
